About Us

Our school mission is to provide for the optimum intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth for each student. This mission is carried out through various school entities incorporating staff, students, and parents, guided by core principles aimed at improving the teaching and learning process. These groups include Teacher Leaders, the School Climate and Improvement Panel, School Safety Team, Student Council (staff-advised and student-led), and various clubs and seasonal sports. Together, these groups support student development, curriculum supervision, staff evaluation, budget and finance, community relations, human relations, facilities maintenance, and professional growth.  This collaborative process, along with a supportive PTA, has created a learning environment and communication network that provides for a thorough and efficient education for the entire student population.

Our staff consists of professionals who are well prepared, dedicated, and committed to quality and excellence for all students. District-wide and school-level (Professional Learning Communities) staff development facilitates the use of highly effective teaching practices in our classrooms. Teachers are well trained in the Danielson Observation Model, which incorporates instructional theory, learning styles, thinking skills, cooperative learning, and classroom management. Our teachers also utilize relevant hands-on activities that are necessary to maintain high student interest and participation. 

The district and our school have committed to a robust technology initiative aimed at providing students with essential digital and educational skills. Every student is provided with a 1:1 personal Chromebook, and each classroom is equipped with an interactive Promethean board to enhance daily instruction. In conjunction, the Media Center supports students in mastering modern techniques for gathering and processing information. 

Above all else, student safety remains our number one priority. While educational excellence and academic achievement are vital, creating a secure environment is the foundation for all learning. To ensure maximum protection, our school is equipped with a modern weapons detection system that students pass through each morning, alongside a high-definition surveillance camera network providing comprehensive coverage across the entire campus, both inside and out. Additionally, RMS is staffed by a dedicated four-member security team—comprising one active HTSD police officer and three retired officers—who actively monitor all entrance points and collaborate closely with administration and staff to maintain a safe, welcoming school every day. 

Reynolds Middle School prides itself on instilling a spirit of service and excellence in our students. Throughout the year, our middle schoolers earn recognition for their talents and contributions in programs like Music in the Parks, various after-school clubs and seasonal sports, the Hamilton Township Fine Arts Festival, the Excellence Through Education Merit Awards, and the annual school play. Equally important is their dedication to giving back—from assembling Thanksgiving baskets and supporting the school community’s Holiday Wish List to leading local community service initiatives. Driven by our Early Act club’s commitment to our various campaigns, Reynolds continues to uphold the values that earned us recognition as a New Jersey "Emerging School of Character.”
