About Us
About Reynolds Middle School
Our school mission is to provide for the optimum intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth for each student. The mission is carried out through various school committees incorporating staff, students, and parents, and the principles aimed at improving the teaching/learning process. The different committees include Student Growth Objective Committee, School Climate/Improvement Panel, School Climate Committee, Safety Committee along with staff advised and student based Student Council, Early Act and Willow Tree. These committees help overlap student development, supervision of curriculum, supervision and evaluation, budget and finance, community relations, human relations, plant maintenance, and professional growth.
This collaborative process along with a supportive PTA has created a learning environment and communication network that provides for a thorough and efficient education for the entire student population.
An extensive staff development program has resulted in the use of the exemplary teaching practices in our classroom. Teachers are well trained in the Danielson Observation Model which incorporates instructional theory, learning styles, thinking skills, cooperative learning, and classroom management. Our teachers also incorporate relevant hands on activities that are necessary to maintain high student interest and participation. Our staff consists of professionals who are well prepared, dedicated, and committed to quality and excellence for all students.
The district and our school have also committed itself to a technology initiative aimed at providing our students with the necessary educational and computer skills. In addition to several computer labs, portable laptop carts, personal calculators and technology courses, our students continue to have the opportunity to learn through the use of SMART board technology. In conjunction, the Media Center provides students with the latest techniques in gathering and processing information through the use of a district electronic bulletin board, controlled access to the Internet, and a computer lab.
Exceptional student achievement and performance are a direct result of the teaching strategies and staff’s ability to continually raise students’ self-esteem. Many incentives are provided by the Administration, Teaching Staff, Guidance Counselors, SAC Counselor, PTA, and community to encourage and increase student performance.
Each school year our students are recognized for their participation in activities such as Music in the Parks, Aviation Club, Hamilton Township Fine Arts Festival, Excellence Through Education Merit Awards Programs, the School Play, Thanksgivings Baskets to Reynolds families, Christmas Wish List for five Hamilton township residents through Hamilton Health Department, and several community service programs which provided assistance to those in need. Our Willow Tree and Early Act clubs continually promoted our “Bully Free Pledge” and “Random Acts of Kindness” programs throughout the building. In the past, Reynolds was recognized as an “Emerging School of Character” by the State of New Jersey.
